Channeling Owen is a melodic, NYC-based rock band that balances distorted guitars with strings and rich vocal harmonies. After a long hiatus the band recently reformed behind the songwriting duo of Stu Strumwasser (vocals) and Dean Beaver (lead guitar) adding violinist Nati Maglakelidze, guitar and sax player Mila Ortega and bass player and cellist Luke Beaver (son of Dean).

From the mid-nineties until the band’s first iteration broke up a couple of years after the turn of the millennium, Channeling Owen received airplay on hundreds of college radio stations, was featured in Forbes ASAP and numerous music magazines, was a featured artist on Rollingstone.com, and their song "Scared of Me" was played on the teen drama "Dawson’s Creek” (which was the number one television show in the world at that time). The band still features soul-searching, literary, yet sometimes-whimsical lyrics, supported by strong musicianship. Known for enthusiastic live performances, their sound alternates between melodic indie band and energetic rock.
